Privacy Policy

1. Overview

ClearRevenue is an educational platform for IFRS 15 and ASC 606 revenue recognition guidance. This Privacy Policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding that data.

We take a minimal-data approach: the interactive tools (checklist, memo, guide progress) store your progress locally on your device using browser localStorage. This data never leaves your browser.

2. Data We Collect

We collect the following types of data:

2a. Tool Progress (Local Storage)

The Audit Checklist, Revenue Memo Template, and 5-Step Guide use your browser's localStorage to save progress between sessions. This data:

• Stays entirely on your device — it is never transmitted to ClearRevenue servers
• Includes checklist completion states, memo field content, and step progress
• Can be cleared at any time by clearing your browser's localStorage or site data

2b. Purchase Records (Premium Access)

When you purchase premium access through Stripe, we collect and store:

• A Stripe checkout session ID (to verify your purchase)
• An access token generated for your session (stored in your browser's localStorage)
• A plan type identifier (e.g., "premium")

Payment details (credit card numbers, billing address) are handled entirely by Stripe and are never transmitted to or stored by ClearRevenue.

2c. Analytics

ClearRevenue uses a privacy-lightweight analytics system to understand aggregate usage patterns (page views, session counts). This system:

• Uses a randomly generated visitor ID stored in localStorage (not tied to any personal identity)
• Does not use third-party tracking cookies
• Does not collect IP addresses, email addresses, or any personally identifiable information
• Collects only: anonymous visitor ID, page slug, and timestamp

2d. Server Logs

Like all web servers, our hosting provider may retain standard access logs (IP address, request path, user agent, timestamp) for operational and security purposes. These logs are not used for marketing or profiling.

3. How We Use Data

• To verify premium purchases and grant access to premium features
• To understand aggregate usage patterns and improve the product
• To maintain the operational security of the service

We do not use your data for advertising, profiling, or marketing purposes.

4. Third-Party Services

ClearRevenue uses the following third-party services:

• Stripe — Payment processing. Stripe's privacy policy applies to payment data.
• Google Fonts — Font delivery (Space Grotesk, IBM Plex Mono). Google may receive basic request data per standard CDN operation.
• Hosting (Render) — Server infrastructure. Standard hosting logs apply.

We do not share personal data with third parties for marketing, advertising, or analytics purposes.

5. Cookies and Local Storage

ClearRevenue does not use tracking cookies. We use browser localStorage for:

• Saving your checklist and memo progress (on-device, never transmitted)
• Storing your premium access token after purchase
• Storing an anonymous visitor ID for aggregate analytics

You can clear localStorage data at any time through your browser settings (Settings → Privacy → Clear browsing data → Cached images and files / Site data).

6. Data Retention

• Tool progress: Stored only in your browser. Cleared when you clear site data.
• Purchase records: Retained for as long as needed to verify premium access.
• Analytics data: Aggregate, anonymized. No personal data retained.

7. Your Rights

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete data we hold about you. For any data requests or privacy questions, contact us at the email address below.

Since most data is stored locally in your browser (not on our servers), you can delete tool progress directly by clearing your browser's site data.

8. Children's Privacy

ClearRevenue is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The "last updated" date at the top of this page reflects when it was last revised. Continued use of the Site after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
